Description

VOW wants to turn Wallkill into the Haunted Hamlet for Halloween and we need your help! Open to any age.

Vision of Wallkill will offer two top prizes of a $25 Amazon Gift Card - one for elementary students and another for the upper grades. There will also be runner-up gifts. Adults are encouraged to enter but will not be judged.

We are asking for a $5 entry fee for your commitment to complete a spooky, fun, Halloween picture. You will be provided a blank, corrugated plastic 18”x24” lawn sign as your canvas. The long side of the canvas is the horizontal side; the short side of the canvas is the vertical side. Please seal your own work. Acrylic paint that is sealed with Modge Podge works best. On the back of the artwork, write in bold 2-inch (minimum) letters: “Art Along the Sidewalk” and “By Vision of Wallkill”, along with the child’s first name, initial of last name and grade.

To Enter: You can pick up a blank sign and register on:

  • September 22nd 5:00 to 6:30pm at West Entrance to Town Hall

  • September 23rd 10:00am – 3:00pm at VOW Tent on the Library Lawn.

  • Sept. 25 through Sept. 29th from 9:00am - 4:00pm at Town Clerk’s Office.

    To Drop off Artwork: All finished artwork needs to be dropped off at the Shawangunk Town Hall by Tuesday 10/10 during business hours OR at the Wallkill Public Library only on Sat. 10/7 or Tues. 10/10. Winners will be selected, and artwork will be displayed around the hamlet starting on Saturday, October 14.
