Art Along the Sidewalk - Now thru Sept. 8,2026

Driving through the Hamlet of Wallkill? Look for bursts of creativity lining the business area sidewalks. These aren’t ordinary lawn signs — they’re 18"×24" corrugated plastic canvases painted by local artists in themes that change throughout the year. “We want to brighten the hamlet and inspire people to pause, enjoy the artwork, and explore our local businesses,” shared project coordinator Julie Craner. The collection features artists of all ages, from young students to lifelong creators.

Get creative with us! Vision of Wallkill and the Wallkill Public Library are joining forces for the annual Art Along the Sidewalk contest as part of the Summer Reading Program. 

Children and adults can design and paint their own 18×24 lawn sign inspired by this year’s theme, “Unearth a Story.” 

All entries will be judged at Weekend of Wallkill, prizes will be awarded, and the finished signs will brighten the Hamlet’s roadways throughout October. Pick up contest info at the Library.
