Weekend of Wallkill (WOW) is almost here — and it’s going to be unforgettable!

Join Vision of Wallkill for Weekend of Wallkill on September 18 & 19, a joyful weekend of family fun, creativity, and community pride that brings the whole hamlet together.

This beloved celebration is free and open to everyone — families, friends, neighbors, and visitors from near and far. All events take place on or near the Wallkill Public Library lawn and the Shawangunk Town Hall, transforming the heart of the hamlet into a lively festival space.

🎉 Friday, September 18 — Kickoff Celebration (5 PM) Start your WOW weekend with an evening full of imagination, discovery, and local talent:

• Lego Sculpture Building & Story Time (sponsored by Wallkill Public Library) Build, create, and let your imagination run wild with hands‑on Lego fun followed by a cozy community story time with local author Nancy Scofield Stewart.
• Fall Egg Hunt A seasonal twist on a favorite tradition — perfect for kids ready to explore and collect for sweet goodies.
• Photography & Art Show Browse stunning local artwork and cast your vote for your favorites. The gallery opens Friday evening and remains a highlight throughout the weekend.

🎨 Calling All Artists & Artisans!There’s still time to be part of WOW’s creative showcase! Submit the application with your original work by September 14 for a chance to shine in this community‑wide celebration of talent.  Accepted media include: 

• Paintings
• Drawings
• Photography
• Jewelry
• Mixed media & other creative forms

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a first‑time exhibitor, WOW is your moment to share your vision with the community.

🎈 Saturday, September 19 — Main Event Day (10 AM–3 PM)

Saturday brings a full day of excitement, activities, and entertainment for all ages. The Wallkill Public Library lawn will be buzzing with energy as families explore hands‑on exhibits, interactive experiences, and local favorites.

• Captain Me Show — A Musical Self -Determination Program for Every child
• 1st Responder Showcase —  kids can climb, explore, and learn about our community first responder vehicles.
• Scavenger Hunt — a playful adventure across the event grounds and prize for the first 100 participants.
• Cone K‑Os RC Driving Course — test your remote-control car skills on a thrilling traffic cone slalom course
• Billy Goat Bingo — a quirky, beloved WOW tradition
• Science Corner — hands‑on experiments and STEM fun
• Dog Costume Contest — adorable pups dressed to impress
• Food & Vendors featuring Hudson Valley favorites, local artisans, and delicious treats

From creative challenges to family games, from science demos to community showcases, Saturday is designed to bring everyone together in the spirit of celebration.
